Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing is working with West Properties to deliver a cruise terminal and a 250 room hotel on the riverside at Enderby Wharf. The development also includes commercial space and the restoration of  Enderby House, a grade II listed building built in the 1930s and until recently occupied by Alcatel.

River Gardens is located on the Greenwich riverfront on the south-west part of the Greenwich Peninsular bordering the East Greenwich conservation area at Pelton Road, Ballast Quay, Banning Street and Christchurch Way. The development occupies the industrial site formerly known as Lovell’s Wharf and is spread across 14 blocks ranging in height from 3 to 10 storeys on a 12 acre site.

Formerly known as the Heart of East Greenwich, this development is on the site of the old Greenwich District Hospital at the junction of Woolwich Road, Blackwall Lane and Vanbrugh Hill. According to local historians the land was used by market gardeners 200 years ago to grow fruit and veg and was known as “Catts Brains”. There has also been a workhouse and an infirmary at the location.

The residential development includes a mix of flats and houses and both privately owned and affordable homes. The scheme also includes provision for mix commercial use.

The proposed Silvertown Tunnel will double the capacity for motor vehicles to cross the river from the Peninsula.  New tunnels will take traffic to Silvertown on the north bank.  Transport for London (TfL) leads the project and has so far held two public pre-consultations.  The official statutory consultation is planned for summer 2015.
