AGM Agenda

Be part of shaping the future of East Greenwich at our Annual General Meeting. This is your chance to hear updates on our work, share your ideas, and get involved in creating a neighbourhood plan.

  1. Welcome and Introduction (10 minutes)

    • Overview of the meeting objectives.

      • Election of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer

      • Vote on Amending Constitution to update wording about timing of AGM

      • Treasurer’s report - quick review of year’s financial activity - spend on website, etc - how that might improve going forward

  2. Update on EGRA Activities (15 minutes)

    • Recap of past projects and campaigns

    • Status of ongoing initiatives - Rose Garden, East Greenwich Fayre

  3. Neighbourhood Plan Overview (15 minutes)

    • What is a neighbourhood plan and why it matters?

    • Steps to create and implement the plan.

  4. Interactive Question Boards and Group Discussion (45 minutes)

    • Divide attendees into smaller groups to explore key themes (more details below):

      • Local area currently

      • Future vision

      • Land use

      • Green spaces and green infrastructure

      • Identity and character

  5. Any other Business (15 minutes)

    • A chance for people to bring any other issues that are facing East Greenwich and suggests how EGRA can take steps to improve outcomes

      • Call for volunteers and feedback.

      • Q&A and Closing Remarks

AGM Questions for Discussions

1. Local area currently

  • What are the current issues you would like to improve?

  • What are the good points about living in East Greenwich?

  • Are there opportunities for development or areas you would like to regenerate?

  • How does the area feel like it has changed since you started living here?

2. Future vision

  • What would you like East Greenwich to look like in the future – homes, businesses, shops, and community facilities?

  • Are there special characteristics (e.g. culture, heritage) you want to preserve or enhance?

  • What is the unique selling point or defining feature of East Greenwich?

3. Land use

  • Are there empty shops, disused buildings, or underused outdoor spaces that could be improved?

  • How accessible are local shops and services?

  • Are there services or facilities needed but not currently available in the neighbourhood?

  • Do current facilities and services cater to all members of the community?

4. Green spaces and green infrastructure

  • Do the open spaces in East Greenwich meet the needs of all users?

  • Are there areas that could benefit from additional greening or landscaping?

  • Are there natural features or wildlife habitats that should be preserved?

  • How connected are green spaces in the area?

5. Identity and character

  • How would you characterise East Greenwich’s identity?

  • Are there buildings, areas, or landmarks that are special or distinct?

  • Are there different character areas within East Greenwich that should be recognised in the plan?
